ICECREAM You scream!!!!

Seriously...Ron makes the best homemade icecream ever! We have it all summer long! There isn't anything like it on a hot summers day!

Yummm! Go Grandpa!
Jason really wanted some of Grandpa's icecream.
The Jake Doan family loves icecream too. Look at Misty she is due in about 3 weeks!
Here is Katie...also with her icecream. We figure 1 batch feeds about 10 of us so there wasn't any leftovers:(

Memorial Day Baseball

Sarah was bored and wanted to come over. So they came and brought all the food for barbecue, and stuff for Ice Cream! We started with baseball, and ended with baseball. The "kids" played catch, pickle and all manner of fetch! It was humid and probably about 80 degrees, so there was a lot of sweating and smiling going around.
They had a great time!

Memorial Day Moments!

We had planned to just hang out and have a quiet memorial day.
We went and visited Grandma and Grandpa Nystrom's grave site.
When we go there we also send out love to Grandma Lehman.
It is a day for remembering.

Gideon and Grandma share a happy moment.
I spent time and finished hand quilting this quilt.
This is made of 30's print fabrics.
The pattern is called x's & o's, with pinwheels in the corners.
It is such a happy quilt.
Annie and Jason! She is such a big help to her family.

Happy Indy 500 Day!!!

It has now been 29 years since Dad (Ron) got home from his mission in Indiana.
He has celebrated the Indianapolis 500 ever since.

This year he chose to make the Symantec car in honor of Alan. It's starting position is 11th on the inside.
Here he is with his Indy tie and I know you can't see it but he has Indy Car cuff links too.
We must dress in Black and White!
Happy Indy Day!!!

I'm still here!

I apologize for not blogging in a while. I feel like I have been on a roller coaster ride. We have Spenser (my nephew) staying with us for a while and life has taken a new turn. I love mothering and taking care of someone and I have made more cookies and bread in the past month than I have in years. It has been a joy to have him here.

Yesterday I got to go to Nauvoo to see Alan. He brought his SIFE group to Nauvoo as it is something they will probably never get the chance to do again. It was so amazing to see those young people who are from countries we have never heard the names of. We got to go through the temple together and that was truly an emotional experience for me. On that same weekend Caleb Galbraith and Erin Simpson were married in the Temple. What a weekend! Spenser and Keenan hung out and camped out and had a ball.

I love this time of year we are gardening and spending a lot of time outside. Everything looks so beautiful. We had a wonderful mothers day at Natalie's house. I am so thankful for the mothers my daughters have become. I am also thankful for the mothers my daughters in law are. I am grateful for my own mother and the Grandmothers in my life. I feel very blessed.
Happy Sabbath!
