Unexpected fun!

I asked Sarah to take me up to Lake Viking to pick up my quilt at the quilters and the operative word in this sentence is LAKE. So we went up there , got the quilt and the kids just begged to stop. Imagine that. Well Sarah told them they could only get their feet wet so they promised. Then we looked over and Ella was doing sand angels in the water, Jared fell over and Katie and Annie "accidentally " fell in. Well Sarah was a good sport about it but the interior of her car is leather so the kids had to ride home in there underwear! They were mortified, but I remember some other kids who would go to the beach and had to make the underwear trip...

Oh my... what an absolutely beautiful quilt. You do such beautiful work and what a family heirloom. Quilts are the best and to get to have so much fun with Sarah's children too. What a great day for all of you!

Yeah the underwear trips... hmm. That's one of those traumatic moments that embeds themselves in your brains... :) I think the most traumatic part was that usually even the underwear were covered in sand so nasty! But for the beach it was worth it :) close your eyes boys and where are the beach towels!!!

The underwear trip sounds awesome. You guys are the best -- those kids will always remember it. Making memories matters so much more than underwear or wet clothes or wet car. Yay for you!

Love the quilt! Yellow-Brick-Road or Turning Twenty again? Those are the best! Looked fun at the beach - gotta love summer memories!
